A classic 4-Day Northern Circuit Safari in Tanzania covers Tarangire National Park, Serengeti National Park, and the Ngorongoro Crater
On the first day of your safari, you'll be picked up in the morning from Arusha and embark on a drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you arrive, you'll enjoy a full day of game driving, with a picnic lunch in the midst of the stunning landscapes of the park. Tarangire is renowned for its large herds of elephants, remarkable ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest, not to mention its excellent opportunities for birdwatching. After a day filled with adventure, you’ll head to Karatu for your overnight stay at the charming Tloma Lodge
Your second day begins with an early breakfast before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater for a half-day safari. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its incredible wildlife presence, including black rhinos, lions, hippos, and hyenas, providing excellent viewing opportunities. After exploring the crater, you'll drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands to the Serengeti. Your overnight accommodations will be in the heart of the Serengeti, allowing you to choose from one of three lovely camps: Sound of Silence Serengeti, The Whisper Serengeti Camp, or Kati Kati Tented Camp.
Day three is a dedicated full-day safari in the vast landscapes of the Serengeti National Park. You'll have the opportunity to explore the Seronera Valley and its surrounding plains, where you can expect to see various wildlife, particularly big cats. Watch for leopards lounging in acacia trees and cheetahs on the hunt. Depending on the season, you might also witness the impressive movement of large herds as they migrate across the plains. At the end of the day, you'll return to your chosen camp for another night in the Serengeti.
On your final day, you'll begin with an early morning game drive to soak in the last moments of your safari adventure, or opt to go on a hot air balloon and view the animals from above. After breakfast at your camp, you’ll prepare for your drive back to Arusha or transfer to Seronera Airstrip, where you'll catch your flight back to Arusha. This concluding day offers a bittersweet farewell to the stunning landscapes and wildlife of Northern Tanzania as you head home with unforgettable memories of your safari experience.
