Experience the beauty and diversity of Tanzania’s wildlife and landscapes on this 5-day safari journey through its most iconic national parks. From the vast elephant herds of Tarangire, the endless golden plains of the Serengeti, to the breathtaking wonder of the Ngorongoro Crater, this safari offers an unforgettable blend of adventure, comfort, and discovery. Perfect for travelers seeking a short yet immersive wildlife experience, this itinerary can be customized to fit your preferences and travel style.
On the first day of your safari, you'll be picked up in the morning from Arusha and embark on a drive to Tarangire National Park, which takes approximately 2.5 to 3 hours. Once you arrive, you'll enjoy a full day of game driving, with a picnic lunch amidst the stunning landscapes of the park.
Tarangire is renowned for its large herds of elephants, remarkable ancient baobab trees, and diverse wildlife, including lions, giraffes, zebras, and wildebeest, not to mention its excellent opportunities for birdwatching. After a day filled with adventure, you’ll head to Karatu for your overnight stay at the charming Tloma Lodge.
Your second day begins with an early breakfast before heading to the Ngorongoro Crater for a half- day safari. This UNESCO World Heritage site is famous for its incredible wildlife presence, including black rhinos, lions, hippos, and hyenas, providing excellent viewing opportunities. After exploring the crater, you'll drive through the scenic Ngorongoro Highlands to the Serengeti. Your overnight accommodations will be in the heart of the Serengeti, allowing you to choose from one of three lovely camps: Sound of Silence Serengeti, The Whisper Serengeti Camp, or Kati Kati Tented Camp.
Day three is a dedicated full-day safari in the vast landscapes of the Serengeti National Park. You'll have the opportunity to explore the Seronera Valley and its surrounding plains, where you can expect to see various wildlife, particularly big cats. Watch for leopards lounging in acacia trees and cheetahs on the hunt. Depending on the season, you might also witness the impressive movement of large herds as they migrate across the plains. At the end of the day, you'll return to your chosen camp for another night in the Serengeti.
On your fourth day, you can choose how you would like to spend your time in the Serengeti. Opt for another full-day safari, embark on a sunrise game drive to experience the park in the early morning light, or indulge in a hot air balloon safari for a breathtaking aerial view of the wildlife below.
Depending on the season, you can also track the seasonal migration, witnessing the wildlife movements across the region. After a day filled with incredible experiences, you will drive to
KARATU.
On your final day, you'll start with an early morning game drive to fully enjoy the last moments of your safari adventure in Lake Manyara National Park. The drive to the park gate from your lodge takes about 30 minutes. After a lunch at the park, you'll prepare for your journey back to Arusha. This concluding day offers a bittersweet farewell to the breathtaking landscapes and wildlife of Northern Tanzania as you head home with unforgettable memories of your safari experience.
